I have had several family members who have asked me, “If I wanted to do what you do where would I go?” Well I think that depends on what part of my business they are referring to. I have several different aspects of my business and believe me when I say “am I moving in the right directions?” is question that crosses my mind on a daily basis as I am sure that anyone who has a small business asks themselves on a Regular basis.
The main part of my business is where I work as a Transportation and Administrative Virtual Assistant. This wasn't a difficult task getting started, but I was lucky enough to find the right place just about right off the get go. VA Networking was one of the first places I started. Soon after I became a free member, I realized the benefits they had to offer, and my business would prosper even more by becoming a VAinsider.
There are a lot of complexities of starting a business and if you are lucky enough to find the right support network that can give the utilities and resources necessary for starting your business, then you will be one of those ones that succeed. Just to give you an idea of what perspectives I have taken and added to my business that givens me a broader opportunity to grow my business.
You have got to read this report about how to make the hours you work on your home business more productive. The creative side that was inspired by my kids, as I began working from home. I needed to find a something that I knew would help in assisting in lowering a chaotic mess with my kids while I worked on marketing strategies etc. in my business. Combined with the techniques from the report I received from above and the help of the artist (my mom), and my own creativity, I came up with my own ideas by creating coloring, activity books, gifts and just plain fun stuff.
Putting it all together that would give plenty of different options and not create the “boredom syndrome” In this side of my business, I wanted to create things that allow children to use their imagination and creativity, with cognitive learning. If you are not sure what cognitive learning is check out the definition on this website DS Creative Touches. Pencil sketched design most of the pages with education and learning as well as creativity.
Well this one is a bit more directed to the male side. My husband works in Alaska in the oilfield. I get asked all the time if he is an ice road trucker. Well in a brief description sometimes he moves the heavy haul stuff on the rig locations and in his words, everyone in the winter up there is an ice road trucker. Lambert and Son’s Designs was created with the Alaskan idea and oilfield in mind. With creative images and designs we put together to be unique and creative. Wall pictures we have created from some of the photo’s that my husband has taken, like this one below.
As you can see there are many opportunities and resources available that can help you in starting your own business. There are two places that I absolutely recommend in your search that might just be your last. First, if you are looking to start up a virtual assistant business I would start with the same place I started VA Networking. With endless possibilities you will be amazed on how the information and resources available can help you in your business. Second the other place or I should say person is Nicole Dean.
I have absolutely loved the information she has available in helping you with your business ventures. The resources she has available for work at home moms (WAHM). Her website showmomthemoney is amazing. In this website she shows you many resources of a successful work at home business.
